Histology of your pets in Kyiv

This is a study of a tiny volume of tissue of internal organs. First, the material is taken – particles of the organ. Most often, a histological examination of the material is carried out to confirm the diagnosis of oncology in a patient, and a part of the tumor is examined for its malignancy. In the case of a diagnosis of a cancerous tumor, a histological examination is mandatory, as the most accurate method of diagnosis, and as a method that gives results in the early stages of the disease.

The technique of histological examination consists of several stages:

    • Material collection
    • Sample fixation. This is done so that the organ tissue does not “die”. These can be various solutions or acids consisting of one or more components. “Bathing” a tissue particle can take several hours, or maybe several days. It all depends on both the fixative and the material sample.
    • The tissue sample is washed in water, then dehydrated. This is done for subsequent filling with paraffin, because it does not dissolve in water.
    • The material taken is filled with liquid paraffin, then a series of procedures are performed to completely solidify it. Next, the tissue surrounded by paraffin is formed into blocks.
    • Ultrathin sections are made with a special knife – a microtome, the blocks are cut into plates.
    • Paraffin is removed from the plates, and they are stained for clear cell outlines.
    • They are washed and dehydrated again. And after a long preliminary preparation, they are placed on a microscope slide, lubricated with balsam. The structure of the tissue is studied, and the doctor draws a conclusion.
In our CGC laboratory, during histological examination, at all stages, all world norms and standards are observed.
